NEUE RESIDENCY: EXPLORE THE PROGRAM ✹
Escape with us to the countryside of Italy for a weekend dedicated to creative work. Inspired by the heritage of artist residencies, we bring the concept to a contemporary setting: from September 19-22, join other bright minds across design, art, and tech for multidisciplinary collaboration.
There will be an exciting program of talks, workshops, and performances to inspire each other, learn, and expand our horizons. The residency will take place in a bucolic setting in the countryside of Italy, Umbria, about 90 minutes drive from Rome. The property consists of several guest houses, a spacious garden with a pool and tennis court available for use.
One of our speakers: Hector Esrawe, entrepreneur, AD100 architect, designer, and co-founder of Masa Galeria.
During the weekend, there will be plenty of time to enjoy the nature surrounding the property and engage in spontaneous activities or self-led projects. You can find more information on our event page.
What you get out of it:
connect with leaders in the creative and tech industries
gain new insights into building a successful creative venture
collaborate and build the foundation for future growth
ART & DESIGN EVENTS IN AUGUST ✹
Who said August is a quiet month - our calendars are packed with events and two good reasons to pencil in a stopover in Venice: Daniel Arsham’s exhibition and Biennale di Danza anyone? Also Forward Festival returns to Berlin with a promising lineup from the design godfather Stefan Sagmeister to Studio Ulises and the most fun creative director we know, Max Siedentopf.
Our curated highlights in August.
Next art & design events coming up:
Feurle Collection Gong Bath, August 3, where visitors are invited to lie down on a mat to meditate in the centre of the exhibition space, surrounded by works of art from the collection. Hallesches Ufer 70, 10963 Berlin.
Elizaveta Porodina at Fotografiska, until August 14, known for taking fashion photography to the next level while exploring surrealism and abstract art to guide people on a journey through her subconscious. Oranienburger Straße 54, 10117 Berlin.
La Biennale di Venezia, until August 3, hosts its 18th International Festival of Contemporary Dance, directed by Wayne McGregor. The British choreographer is featured around the world, including Paris Opéra, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, New York City Ballet, and many others. Various locations, Venice.
Daniel Arsham, until September 15, another reason to visit Venice, one of the biggest shows of Arsham showing three monumental paintings and a number of large cast bronze works. Chiesa di Santa Caterina, Venice.
Forward Festival, August 29-30.08, returns to Berlin with a promising lineup across creatives from tech to design. HKW, John-Foster-Dulles-Allee 10, 10557 Berlin.
What we found inspiring lately:
Just in line with our mood for August, we embrace the principles of Slow Productivity, a book by Caleb Newport. Do fewer things, work at a natural pace, and obsess over quality. The perfect read to recharge during the summer break.
Have a great start into August,
Your NeueHaus Team
